Fukuoka is the most populated prefecture In the southern island of Kyushu. It has a warm and humid climate, and is known for its ancient temples and beautiful beaches. Before World War II, Fukuoka was called the “Nada of Kyushu” because sake was very popular to brew there in that time. Most sake brewed in Fukuoka today is made with Yamadanishiki rice, in fact this region is the second highest in terms of Yamadanishiki production.
