Region: Chiba

Chiba prefecture is located east of Tokyo, and is a popular destination for foreign travelers because Japan’s busiest airport and Tokyo Disneyland are located there. Much of the Western part of Chiba is urban, but once one gets past the city there is much beauty to enjoy, such as rolling hills, coastlines and rice fields. The climate here is moderate, with warmer winters and summers. There are around 40 sake breweries in Chiba, many of whom use Koshi Hikari sake rice which is cultivated there. Breweries in Chiba focus mostly on ginjo style sake, with a gorgeous aroma and strong rigid structure. Most tojis here come from the Echigo Toji and Nanbu Toji guilds. All Regions »
